Artist Biography
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 15, 1978, Fernando Mora discovered his passion for drawing cartoons and comic book heroes at a young age. He received formal training under the renowned Puerto Rican artist Andres Bueso at "La Academia Bueso," where he later earned a scholarship, teaching younger students while honing his skills in various dry media.
In 1998, Fernando pursued further education at the Ringling School of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida, earning a BFA with a minor in Illustration. He delved into mixed media, refining his drawing and illustration techniques.
In 2002, he transitioned to painting, focusing on the female figure and experimenting with different wet and mixed media. After a successful career in Puerto Rico, he moved to New York City in 2007, seeking new inspiration from the city's diverse offerings.
Returning to Puerto Rico in 2010, Fernando expanded his artistic reach by integrating his paintings onto everyday items such as furniture, shower curtains, and clothing, with around 450 pieces in his inventory, most of which have been sold. Notable clients include Wisin, Tego Calderon, Silverio Perez, Tommy Torres, and Rene (Calle 13).
